Summer Reading List
So as many of you may or may not know i have been reading quite a bit in the last few moths. In fact I have been reading more now than I ever have. I suppose their are several reasons for this. For the first time in my life since kindergarten I have been out of school for and entire year. So now that I can direct my attention towards reading materials that are not ‘required reading’ I have done just that. So I put together a list of books I have read and books I hope to read soon. I went a little crazy with my new linking tool along the way.
Books I have recently read:
- The Emerging Church by Dan Kimball
- Blue Like Jazz
: Nonreligious Thoughts on Christian Spirituality by Donald Miller
- Practitioners: Voices Within the Emerging Church
- A New Kind of Christian
: A Tale of Two Friends on a Spiritual Journey by Brian McLaren
- Preaching Re-Imagined
by Doug Pagitt
- Faith of My Fathers
by Chris Seay
- The Secret Message of Jesus
: Uncovering the Truth that Could Change Everything by Brian McLaren
- Velvet Elvis
: Repainting the Christian Faith by Rob Bell
Currently Reading:
- The Last Word and the Word after That
: A Tale of Faith, Doubt, and a New Kind of Christianity by Brian McLaren
Those I hope to read this summer:
- The Complex Christ
: Signs of Emergence in the Urban Church by Kester Brewin
- How Movies Helped Save My Soul
: Finding Spiritual Fingerprints in Culturally Significant Films by Gareth Higgins
- Misquoting Jesus
: The Story Behind Who Changed the Bible and Why by Bart D. Ehrman
- Making Sense of Church
: Eavesdropping on Emerging Conversations About God, Community, and Culture by Spencer Burke, Colleen Pepper
- Organic Church
: Growing Faith Where Life Happens by Neil Cole
- The Shaping of Things to Come
: Innovation and Mission for the 21 Century Church by Michael Frost, Alan Hirsch
And lots more…
So what is on your reading list? What am I missing?
11 Jun 2006 Rob

So, Here ya go. I’m currently reading all of the following:
The Bible (for the second time) from cover to cover.
Seven Seasons of the Man in the Mirror
The Everyday Guide to Success
Focus on you Dream
Light for my Path for the Workplace
So can you give me the cliff notes or write some book reviews? I only have 15 minutes a day to read. I’m serious about the book reviews - I”m working with a graphic artist to start an ezine. It would be an alternative Christian voice…sitll trying to think of an un-Christian name. If we get it off the ground, you will be seeing more soon. Before then, I will be soliciting you and your wife for freelance articles, emphasis on the free. You never know, I may someday turn a profit and be able to pay….
sure I am always up for writing a review or two.
